National Minimum Wage – 01 October 2015


National Minimum Wage Increases

The National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Regulations 2015 apply from today (01 October 2016) and therefore the rates of the national minimum wage will increase in accordance with recommendations from the Low Pay Commission.

From 1 October 2015 the following minimum wage rates will apply:

Adult rate for workers aged 21 and over is £6.70. (old rate £6.50)
For workers aged between 18 and 20 is £5.30 (known as the ‘Development Rate’). (old rate £5.13)
Young workers rate for those aged under 18 but above the compulsory school age is £3.87. (old rate £3.79)
Apprentices rate is £3.30*. (old rate £2.73)

The accommodation offset is now £5.35 each day.
